40 Day Challenge
Forget Spring Cleaning! I need to de-clutter now before the cold weather sets in!
The idea of "40 Bags in 40 Days" has been floating around the web for a bit now and its finally caught my attention. Can I rid my house of 40 bags of junk/miscellaneous/garbage/useable goods to send to the thrift store? Maybe. I think I can. And that's saying something. How ballsy is it of me to have all this STUFF, much of it taking up space and needing to be dusted? What am I teaching my kid? Just buy more and more and more stuff and fill your house, every corner of your room, with more stuff. Along with challenging myself to this project, I started reading the book "Born to Buy" by Juliet B. Schor. It's an expose about the marketing culture that is targeting our children to become hard fast consumers by such a young age. I think the book and challenge go hand in hand.
Here's my list. It was printed off this morning and stuck on my fridge. My list template comes from Sugar Tot Designs if you'd like to grab one up yourself!
Happy De-Cluttering!
