Confession: I Hoard Paper

Every time the show "Hoarders" comes on the television, I cringe a little. We live in a small house with no storage areas, just bedroom closets. I have each bed on bed risers so I can tuck away winter clothes and holiday decorations in totes under them. I craft which results in some piles, the 2.5 year old has too many toys, and the husband crafts home brews which also take up room. All of this I can manage. I have accepted that for now while renting a home we don't love and choosing not to spend our extra pennies on home furnishings and creative storage bins and nooks is a-OK.

What is not OK: the hoarding of papers that happens in the house.
Between bills, magazines, toddler drawings, junk mail, notes, scraps with semi important info on it...its taking over.

So, to face my hoarding full on, I marched around the house and collected every last scrap of paper, old magazine, and bill and piled it up. The following evidence is not pretty:
It took me a little over 2 hours to sort, file, and trash all of this and I committed to only allowing papers from this point on to be kept in a plastic dish pan. Classy? NO. Organized? Well, NO. A step in the right direction to curbing a bad habit in this house? YES.
